Where it all began.....

There have been many names over the years. MC Productions, MCE Films,
and Squared Circle Entertainment, just to name a few. Since 2001
lifelong friends Matthew Cichella and Mitch Wright II have been trying
to put together a company to produce motion pictures. There have been
several "made with friends" attempts over the past few years and a few
freelance positions with other companies, but nothing seemed to pan
out the way they expected. In 2007, a shocking and heartbreaking loss,
both in film production and in Matthew's personal life put an end to
the filmmaking dream. The "never give up" mentality was gone. The
dream was over.

Years went by and no scripts were written. No productions took place.
No movies were filmed. And then in June 2010, in one moment,
everything changed ...forever.

It was in that moment, Matthew came face to face with that same
heartbreaking situation, in different fashion this time, but unlike
the events of 2007, he was prepared ...as prepared as he could be. It
was this moment that lit the fire in him and like flipping a light
switch, the passion was back and for the first time in three years,
Matthew Cichella felt like himself again. He decided it was time to
put up or shut up. No more freelance work. No more casting friends for
short film roles. It was time to make an official company and take the
risk of a lifetime. And that risk started with a call to producer and
lifelong friend, Mitch Wright II.

After a brief conversation, the two agreed it was time to go behind
the camera once more. It was time to live the dream. The dream started
with "Innocent Looks." A 7min short film featuring Melissa Revels and
Ty Yaeger. This was the first time that director/writer Matthew
Cichella and producer Mitch Wright II would return behind the camera
since 2007. While it was only a short flick, this was a break it or
break it opportunity.. Several tried and failed attempts had softened
the confidence, but it could not dent the passion or the desire. That
passion led to "Innocent Looks" being written, filmed and completed in
one month's time.

The film, shot and edited by Nathan Stein of Fast Films, was completed
just in time to appear at the On The Waterfront Film Festival.
September 4th, 2010 was the date of the screening. Years of hard work
had led to this moment. Matthew, Mitch, and many friends and family
sat in a jam-packed theater, full of other filmmakers and people he
had never, and waited for the World Premiere of "Innocent Looks" to
begin. This was the first time their work had been seen in front of
anyone, outside friends and family, and both knew if it was not well
received this could mark the end. But nothing could have prepared them
for what came next.

In a night that featured short films from several talent and well
known filmmakers, "Innocent Looks" scored the loudest ovation of the
festival. The moment was nothing less than breathtaking and it
solidified to the two friends they were on the right path and more
than anything, it showed Matthew Cichella that he had made the right
decision. Against all odds, he had made his comeback and it was more
amazing than he could have ever predicted.

Sitting in that theater, Matthew and Mitch knew one thing ...they knew
no matter what happened this time around they would never give up
...never tap out ...NEVER SUBMIT!

And it was in that moment, Never Submit Entertainment was born.
